UNCONTESTED vs. CONTESTED DIVORCE OR CUSTODY

Uncontested Divorce or Custody​ is where both parties work together to prepare a joint decree to the Court that will resolve the issues involved. All terms of divorce can be resolved this way: custody, child support and property and debt allocation. An uncontested custody matter can be accomplished in a similar fashion. An uncontested divorce or custody matter is the fastest, cheapest and most amicable way to resolve your case. Rebecca usually offers a flat rate for uncontested matters, ranging from $550 to $1500, depending on the issues involved.  Please call Rebecca for a quote today.

Contested Divorce or Custody is where we will litigate the matter until resolution. Sometimes we will resolve some of the issues and litigate other issues (bifurcation). When an action is filed, you can expect temporary hearings, case management conferences, mediation, return hearings, discovery and disclosures and preparation of our case for trial. As expected, this is a more costly and involved journey. However, Rebecca will make this process as easy for you as possible.
